Diesel Mechanic Training – Diploma Program
Heavy Vehicle Technology Diploma
Keep the World Moving with Hands-On Diesel Mechanic Training
From the heavy equipment constructing our roads and harvesting our crops to the ships and trains that keep our economy moving each day, heavy machinery truly makes the world go round. ATI’s Heavy Vehicle Technology program offers diesel repair training in a hands-on shop environment where students have the opportunity to work on manual and automatic engines ranging from 400 to 12,000 pounds, developing skills that could lead to a rewarding career as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic.
The Heavy Vehicle Technology diploma program offers diesel training in the practical aspects of engine maintenance and major heavy vehicle subsystems. Students receive classroom and laboratory training using modern test equipment and specialized tools. Students gain hands-on experience in a realistic shop setting where they must demonstrate specific proficiencies. Emphasis is placed on logical diagnostic methods and repair procedures. This program prepares graduates for entry-level employment in the modern heavy vehicle service center in positions such as bus, truck, heavy construction technicians and diesel engine specialists.
